Wool Gathering at Young’s Dairy

The Wool Gathering is a single-day festival held at Young's Jersey Dairy in Ohio, now in its 30th year. More than 80 vendors cover the full fiber chain, from raw fleeces and milled roving to hand-dyed yarns, luxury fibers like yak, silk, and cashmere, and finished handwoven goods. Wool-bearing animals are on site, including sheep, llamas, alpacas, cashmere goats, and Angora rabbits, and many of the vendors raise their own flocks and herds. Fiber guilds run spinning and weaving demonstrations, and you'll find natural dyers, custom mills, and makers selling handcrafted spindles, looms, and yarn bowls alongside their fiber. The farm setting and the number of vendors who are also producers give this one a strong farm-to-fiber feel.
