Shepherd's Extravaganza

Shepherds Extravaganza is a two-day event at the King County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw, Washington, and the focus here is raw fiber and processing rather than finished yarn. Fleece competitions judged by licensed evaluators and a fleece sale anchor the weekend, with fiber arts competitions running alongside. Workshops cover spinning, weaving, felting, rug hooking, and other techniques, and craft demonstrations give you a chance to watch experienced fiber artists work with raw materials. Used equipment is available for purchase, which is always worth checking if you're looking to add a wheel or loom without the new price tag. If your idea of a good time starts with a bag of raw fleece and a plan for what to do with it, this is your kind of weekend.
