San Diego Yarn Crawl
The San Diego Yarn Crawl is a self-paced, self-guided event that includes four yarn shops and two alpaca ranches across San Diego County. Participants receive a passport and visit each location independently, with the option to attend on-site events at participating venues. The crawl includes access to a working fiber mill and opportunities to meet alpacas at the ranch locations. Organizers provide maps, parking information, and lists of nearby restaurants and hotels for participants planning extended visits. This Southern California crawl combines urban yarn shops with working alpaca ranches in San Diego County, giving participants access to both retail locations and fiber production sites. The six-stop format includes a functioning fiber mill where crafters can see yarn production firsthand. The mix of shop and ranch environments means participants encounter both finished commercial yarns and ranch-produced fiber from the region's alpaca herds, alongside the animals themselves.
