Ozark Highlands Sheep, Fiber & Craft Festival

The Ozark Highlands Sheep, Fiber & Craft Festival takes place at Mesta Meadows Ranch, a working livestock operation in the Ozark highlands. Friday afternoon eases into the weekend with vendors, demonstrations, bonfires, and live bluegrass. Saturday is the full day: sheep shearing and wool skirting demonstrations, stock dog herding, over 25 vendors selling yarn, textiles, raw wool, pottery, woodworking, and local farm goods, plus food trucks. Highland cattle and other ranch animals are on the property to visit, along with a petting zoo and hayrides from the parking area. The festival has drawn attendees from 15 states, which says something about the pull of a fiber event on a working ranch with bluegrass and bonfires. This is one where you might come for the yarn and stay for the highland cattle.
