NH Sheep and Wool Festival
The New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival is a two-day event at the Deerfield Fairgrounds in Deerfield, organized by the New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Growers Association. A judged fleece sale lets you select raw fleeces directly from regional shepherds, and a hand spun skein contest run by the New Hampshire Spinners and Dyers Guild gives spinners a chance to show their work. Workshops and lectures cover both fiber techniques and sheep management, so the programming serves makers and farmers in equal measure. A youth sheep show brings younger participants into the livestock side. Vendors, demonstrations, and the fleece sale all share the fairgrounds, and the agricultural education mission behind the organizing association keeps the connection between shepherd and fiber artist at the center of the weekend. Pets are not permitted on the fairgrounds.
