Maine Yarn Cruise

The Maine Yarn Cruise is a passport crawl that runs from summer through fall across participating shops throughout the state, organized into eight geographic regions: Maine Beaches, Greater Portland & Casco Bay, Maine Lakes & Mountains, Kennebec Valley, Midcoast, Maine Highlands, Downeast & Acadia, and Aroostook. That regional structure doubles as a travel itinerary, with routes that thread through coastal towns, mountain communities, and lakeside areas. You purchase a passport and canvas bag with sponsor samples, then collect stamps at your own pace, which gives residents and summer visitors alike months to explore. Both digital and limited paper passport options are available. Coordinated knit-alongs and crochet-alongs run alongside the shop visits, giving you a project to work on between stops. Many participating shops are small, independent operations, so you're supporting the kind of places that make a detour worthwhile.
