Lambtown Fiber and Textile Event
Lambtown Festival is a two-day event held at the Dixon May Fairgrounds in Dixon, California, now in its 40th year. Billed as California's largest sheep and wool event, the festival sits conveniently between Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. Workshops begin a couple of days before the main weekend, with pre-registration required. Once the festival opens, sheep shearing and sheepdog demonstrations run on the hour throughout both days, and competitions include fleece judging and shearing. Indoor and outdoor vendors cover the full range of fiber supplies, from yarn and roving to tools, notions, and finished goods. A family activities area called Wooly Adventures runs sheep-themed crafts and beginning fiber arts projects. The festival operates as a nonprofit and has been running since 1985.
