L.A. County Yarn Crawl

The Los Angeles County Yarn Crawl runs four days across L.A. County, which means the crawl covers a staggering amount of ground, from beach communities to mountain towns across the most populous county in the country. You collect buttons, tote bags, and free patterns at each stop, with prize drawings along the way. A passport system tracks your visits. The sheer geographic spread means you're unlikely to hit every shop, but that's part of the fun: you pick your corner of the county and discover what's there, or plot an ambitious route and see how far you get.
