Great Smoky Mountain Fiber Fair
The Great Smoky Mountains Fiber Fair is a two-day event at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee, near the entrance to the national park. More than 20 vendors sell handmade goods, fiber tools, and supplies on the heritage center's historic grounds. Local spinners and weavers work on site throughout the fair, demonstrating methods rooted in Southern Appalachian textile traditions, and workshops focus on the traditional techniques that developed in this region. The heritage center setting isn't just a backdrop: you're watching fiber arts practiced in a place dedicated to preserving the mountain craft history those skills come from.
