Great Lakes Fiber Show

The Great Lakes Fiber Show is a two-day festival held over Memorial Day Weekend at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio. It's a nonprofit event that's been running for over two decades, and the programming reflects that kind of depth. A Farm to Fiber section lets you meet fiber farmers directly and purchase fiber and animals, while workshops, competitions, and a vendor marketplace fill out the rest of the schedule. The free hands-on activities are worth noting: drop spindling, sprang basics, knitting machine tryouts, nalbinding, and flatsjarna cord making all show up on the schedule alongside more familiar techniques. A Gathering Area near the food stands gives you a place to sit, work on projects, and talk with other attendees between sessions. Sheepdog herding demonstrations run throughout the weekend, and camping is available on the fairgrounds if you want to make a full weekend of it.
