For the LOVE of Fiber

For the LOVE of Fiber is a single-day event at the Ramada Inn and Conference Center in State College, Pennsylvania, organized by the Centre Knitters Guild. Around 20 vendors set up in the merchant mart, with farm vendors selling alpaca and sheep products alongside indie dyers and fiber artists. Four free mini-classes run throughout the day (pre-registration required), covering techniques from kumihimo braiding to magic loop knitting. The on-site services are a nice touch: a Knit Doctor station for troubleshooting problem projects, skein winding stations, and consultations with Centre Spinners Guild members. The Time Warp sheep-to-shawl team demonstrates their process, and the guild encourages attendees to wear their finished objects throughout the day. There's something appealing about a fiber event where showing off what you've made is part of the program.
