Flagstaff Wool and Fiber Festival
The Flagstaff Wool & Fiber Festival is a weekend event at Fort Tuthill Fairgrounds in Flagstaff, Arizona, up in the ponderosa pines at 7,000 feet. Forty-plus artisan vendors set up in both outdoor and indoor spaces, and fiber arts workshops run in indoor facilities. Sheep shearing demonstrations and a juried fiber arts exhibit anchor the programming, and the animal enclosures bring you face to face with sheep, alpacas, and camels. The fairgrounds offer on-site camping for anyone who wants to make a weekend of it. Cool mountain air in Arizona is a selling point on its own, and browsing yarn alongside camels is something you won't find at many other festivals.
