Crazy Mountain Fiber Fest
Fiber Fest is a two-day event at the Big Timber Civic Center in Big Timber, Montana, a ranching community tucked between the Crazy Mountains and the Boulder River Valley. The two days have their own character: Fiber Friday and Sheepherder Saturday. Workshops cover spinning lace, nuno felting, wet felting, and punch needle, with morning and afternoon sessions both days. Sheep shearing demonstrations and a sheep-to-shawl display connect the finished craft back to the raw material. The festival spills beyond the civic center into downtown Big Timber, where local businesses host a restaurant showcase and Two Rivers Gallery puts on a fiber arts exhibit. It's a small-town festival where the ranching community and the fiber arts community overlap in a way that feels natural rather than staged.
